Gideon inquired, “Are you planning to appeal to Byron?”

“Why would I need to do that? Mr. Crawford isn’t interested in such details. He’s concerned with results,” Athena replied.

Gideon nodded in agreement, a knowing smile on his face. “Of course. So, Miss Newton, you employed the carrot-and-stick approach, I see?”

Athena squinted playfully at Gideon. “You’re quite informed, aren’t you?”

Gideon sat up straight, a self-assured grin on his lips. “I graduated from Columbia University, after all.”

“What choice do I have? The project is already delayed by a month due to these individuals. If I were to fire them and bring in new workers, it would lead to even more time and cost losses,” Athena reasoned. In the construction industry, time equated to money, making her decision a pragmatic one.
