“Can He Offer Protection?

Athena’s surprise was evident.

After a while, Byron draped a coat over her and remarked, ‘Why not put on a coat?’

His tone held a touch of reproach, as if he were her spouse.

‘Why are you here?’ Gabe asked, shocked.

Byron didn’t even acknowledge Gabe’s presence.

Raising his hand, he brushed Athena’s hair from beneath the coat.

‘I’m the one she’s with. Is it strange for me to be here?’ he stated.

‘Byron!’

Athena and Gabe almost exclaimed simultaneously.

Yet, Gabe’s gaze fell upon Athena’s neck.

Athena had sensitive skin that reddened easily when touched.

Byron had mastered the art of controlling his strength when he left his mark on her.

As Gabe observed the bright red on Athena’s neck, anger boiled within him.

No matter his innocence, Gabe was an adult who recognized a hickey.

Athena, noticing Gabe’s stare, realized she had been deceived by Byron.

Fine. Maybe Gabe would give up, and she wouldn’t need to explain further.

However…

‘You jerk, you pressured her!’ Gabe cursed, his fist flying toward Byron.

Athena was taken aback by Gabe’s words.

Before she could intervene, Byron had Gabe pinned against the wall, arms immobilized.

‘Gabe, you’re weak. Trying to snatch my woman?’ Byron jeered.

‘Byron, stop this!’ Athena stepped forward, attempting to separate them.

‘Look how feeble he is. Can he really protect you?’ Byron pressed Gabe, a mocking tone in his voice.

Gabe’s face paled.

It must have been painful.

‘Byron, that’s enough!’ Athena yelled.

Observing Athena’s intense anger, Byron shoved Gabe out the door.

He warned, ‘Mr. Chambers, let me make this clear: Athena is mine. If you try to take her from me, you won’t get away with it!’

Athena was stunned.

Did this despicable Byron understand the concept of breaking up?

‘Gabe…’ Athena began as she approached him.

However, Byron grasped the back of her neck, pulling her back, and slammed the door shut.

‘Byron…’ Athena seethed, about to scold him.

But Byron kissed her abruptly, leaving her stunned.

Byron had learned from past experiences, opting to hold her jaw.

Athena was coerced to part her lips, and Byron’s tongue invaded her mouth.

Eventually, when Athena’s mind was a whirlwind, Byron ceased the forceful kiss.

He panted, cradling Athena’s cheeks.

They were so close that their noses almost touched.

He stared at her like a predator eyeing its prey.

Confusion filled Athena’s beautiful eyes.

Her complexion was slightly pale from the lack of air, yet her ears were crimson, and her lips were swollen from the fervent encounter.

After much time, Byron finally recognized Athena as the woman he remembered, belonging to him.

‘You’re exquisite,’ Byron murmured.

He lowered his head, planting a gentle kiss on her lips once more.

Athena snapped back to reality.

She promptly pushed him away and took a few steps back, intending to check on Gabe.

‘Wouldn’t he be even more provoked if he saw you like this?’ Byron mused.

His voice held a devilish whisper, a playful note in it.”
